Message from Chief Michael J. Weir

On behalf of the men and women of the Dedham Police Department, I welcome you to our new website.   As the newly appointed Chief, I look forward to continuing the dedication to the community which this department has shown under the direction of Chief Dennis Teehan.  I believe that through a partnership between the police and the citizens of the town, we can better protect our neighborhoods and continue to make Dedham a safe place to live.

The new dedhampolice.org is another form of community policing the Dedham Police is offering to the town.  I encourage you to explore the site and learn more about the Dedham Police Department.  As time goes on, more information will be added to the site to assist the residents of Dedham.

In conclusion, I welcome the new challenges that the position of Chief will bring and appreciate the opportunity which I have been given.  I am proud to work with the all the members of the police department and recognize the great work that they do.  I have been a police officer in the town of Dedham for almost 34 years and look forward to leading the Dedham Police for years to come.
