Officer of the Month

Officer Frank McMillan
Officer Frank McMillan has been an officer with the Dedham Police Department for eleven years. For the past four years, he has been assigned to the Mobile Operations Unit. Officer McMillan also serves as a firearms instructor for the Department and is an armorer for the Dedham Police's patrol rifle, the Bushmaster M-4.
In 2002, Officer McMillan joined the Metro-LEC Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T) Team as an "operator" on the entry team. He describes the entry team "as the sharpest and most potent arrow in the quiver of last
resort. When the buck finally stops, we go in." Officer McMillan's skill and training were seen during the Democratic National Convention in 2003, when SWAT was activated to protect the perimeter of the Fleet Center (now TD Bank North Garden).
Although Officer McMillan enjoys being on the SWAT team, his true love is being on the motorcycle with the Dedham Police. Officer McMillan's has stated that his goal is to someday take over his mentor, Officer Paul Crump's position as Cycle One.
In Officer McMillan's free time, he enjoys spending time with his family. When not on his motorcycle at work, Officer McMillan enjoys getting on his "other cycle" and exploring the hidden trails and backroads of Massachusetts. Officer McMillan's love of cycling is shown in the photo below when he joined the Pan Mass Challenge Team.
